NNHS CLASS OF 1940 PLANS ITS 60-YEAR REUNION
E-Mail from Mimi Green on 25 July 1999
Hi there

---Just thought you might be interested to know that the February and June classes of 1940 have been having reunions every five years since our 25th in 1965. We really do enjoy getting together. We have a local "committee" which gathers at least once a year for a covered dish luncheon at the home of Margaret Lee Kyser York, and we get together for lunch whenever we can when a classmate is in town, or just for the fun of it . Mary Mesic heads it up and does most of the organizing, keeps in touch with most of the alumni and generally keeps us all in line. We have just started planning our 60th reunion for the year 2000. Although we have been having our reunions in the summertime heretofore, we're going to have it on September 8th and 9th of 2000, at the Chamberlin Hotel. We have held the previous reunions at Holiday Inns, Christopher Newport University, The Chamberlin, James River Country Club, Officers' Clubs, etc. We'd be interested in knowing whether you have any good ideas that have worked for you. If anyone knows anyone from our class, please let them know about this. We are in touch with most of our class, but would love to hear from anyone who's interested. My daughter, Ronni Green Cristol, told me about your Web page, and since I have a WebTV (not a computer) I thought I'd make contact. Have you heard anything about a group forming a Newport News Alumni Group for all NNHS graduates? If so, please let us know. Good luck with your reunion.

Best regards,

Mimi Green
